I've tried several rf kbd/mouse combo's, and both seemed "sticky" with the mouse at about 6-8' from my set. Also, they had separate kbd and mouse, not what I was looking for.

Finally, I found exactly the unit I wanted for my MythTV settop box:

Works great.

"Note: This keyboard will not work properly if connected to a switching device, adapter, or docking station. It must be connected directly to the computer. "
Guess this means I can't use my KVM on it?

Sure, the kvm thing is a problem, but then again, I don't plan on making my living room look like a datacenter :)

Honestly, thought, I would say this kbd is perfect for a livinig room setup with mythtv. It's small and can be easily tucked out of the way. Not sure why the wireless models (2 different ones) gave me problems from the exact distance I needed them to work (8-10 feet), but this one works like a champ. I'm still using the original batteries that came with the unit.

I would recommend checking out the Lite-On IR Wireless Keyboard and Mouse offered on NewEgg. At <$18 it seems to offer the same functionality.
