I purchased the Everex gPC from Wal-mart, it does SD just fine, via diskless network boot.

I did have to edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and change the VESA driver to VIA, after that worked great.

The specs on the Everex are:
1.5Ghz VIA C7
512 MB ram
80 GB HD (not being used, by me)
DVD reader w/CD-RW (not being used, by me)

The power supply fan is a little noisey, but tolerable.

From another post to help consolidate. . . If you don't need the whole PC

Some reviews of the board at the link say the following on power consumption:

4 watts idle, 7.5 watts load

My BE/FE is:
Asus A8N-VM CSM
512 MB RAM
Athlon64 3200+
Hauppauge PVR-150 and PVR-500

Thanks to Cecil and all for the help and their work on KM

Hi,

I also have the $199 special however was not quite as successful in obtaining satisfactory tv. Totally forget trying for a second stream from HDHomeRun. Even playing various types of videos were not smooth. This was with a F27 install ( I dual boot to keep the gOS )

I suspect the via driver is not quite the correct match yet.

The rest of the menu items seem to be ok

The box is very quiet and runs quite cool.

Mike
