My little low end R5A22 system - so far

Celeron 850MHz socket 370 CPU in a Slot 1 adapter board
MSI 6156 Slot 1 motherboard
On board Ensoniq1371 audio
512MB ram
250GB Seagate IDE drive
TNT2 M64 video card with external VGA > composite video adapter (looking for better card with video out that will work)
TwinhanDTV Mini Ter DVB-T card, model 3020C
USB remote control that came with Twinhan card (works like a normal keyboard - remapped a few keys so far for minimal functionality)
100MB ethernet card, but seems to limit itself at about 5MB/sec when transferring files to another computer on my network using mythweb - bottleneck unknown at this point.

All in an old tower case. Noise isn't too bad as there's no video card fan, and the processor fan is only small and quiet for this old cpu.

OK, the DVB-T card uses standard PAL standard definition resolution, which, from memory, is 720x576. I do not alter this in any way for watching live TV, or for recordings - I don't use the transcoder (yet).

I was displaying this with X windows in 800x600 depth 24, but switched to 640x480, purely because I wanted to use a small VGA only monitor in parallel to my TV, for doing stuff to the box while the main TV was in use. I have to say, with my older 68cm style crt television, there's not much difference.

I have never had High Definition (1080i standard?) work without stuttering, even when the DVB card was in a much more powerful system (2.2 GHz Sempron), running it's own software under windows.
