I'm actually going to do more to this box, but I wanted to post this if someone wants a great budget machine for SD TV watching. Setup: Knoppmyth R5A30.2 MSI PM8M-V Via Socket 478 MicroATX Motherboard (integrated sound and NIC, both working great) Intel Celeron D 345 3.06GHz OEM Processor Kingston ValueRAM 512MB PC3200 Hauppauge PVR-150 non-mce with Silver Remote (EDIT: Just tried the remote and almost all functions work without tweaking) eVGA GeForce FX5500 AGP 128MB Video Card Western Digital 160GB IDE HDD I/O Magic DVD-RW I installed Knoppmyth following the AutoInstall directions. The only thing I had to change was my timezone and the typical tuner setup. The rest worked without any tweaking whatsoever. |
