Post subject:  Mercury TV Tuner card on R5C7

I have television working on the card. Sound is not yet working on my computer, so I can't test that yet, and I havent yet checked the remote control. I will post again when I get to try them.

I didn't keep notes during the install, so I have probably missed something, but the main change required was to add the line
Code:
options saa7134 card=2 tuner=55

to the file /etc/modprobe.d/KnoppMyth

The card has a Philips saa7130 chip on it, which is supported by the saa7134 driver. Card=2 refers to the Lifeview card that this card seems to be based on, google for more info. Apparently the tuner varies between cards. My card (a PAL-I model) had the label "tcl2002mi-3" on the big metal tuner box, underneath a Mercury label. When I looked this up in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/video4linux/CARDLIST.tuner, tuner=55 was the closest.

Could you add some more details about your other systems hardware? Tier 2 hardware recommendations are supposed to be completed enough for someone else to use as a template for setting up their own system. They're also meant to help answer questions like "Does card X work with motherboard Y under version Z?"

No Problem, specs are below.

Motherboard: Winfast 6100K8MB (nForce 410 chipset)
CPU: AMD Sempron 1800
Graphics: Geforce 6100 (embedded on mboard)
TV Tuner Card: Mercury TV Tuner card
Memory: 512mb GEIL Unbuffered PC3200 dimm
HD: 80gb ide

On-motherboard Nvidia network interface worked to begin with, but since stopped working.
Haven't yet got sound working - but the NVidia binary drivers seems to support it, so its probably just a configuration change required.
