R5C7 worked almost perfectly out of the box for me. Here is my setup:

Gigabyte GA-7VT600
Athlon XP 2600 CPU
Nexus AXP-3200 CPU cooler
Seasonic 380W power supply
PVR 350 capture card
Pioneer DVR-111D
1 GB PC3200 memory
EDIMAX 7325ig wireless card
Maxtor 60 GB root drive
Seagate 300GB mounted on /myth/tv

Knoppmyth installed perfectly. For the installation I stuck in an ATI All in Wonder 8500 but pulled it out once everything was working.

The only thing that didn't work after a reboot was the wireless card. During the installation, it asked for my wireless SSID and WEP key, but did not store them. So once I rebooted, this information was lost and the machine tried to connect to my neighbor's network.

I updated my /etc/network/interfaces and then everything worked fine.

After a subsequent reboot, my timezone settings went screwy and I had to remove and readd my video capture card in mythtv-setup. This forum and the wikis have been very useful.

I only have two suggestions:
1) Save the wireless settings entered at installation time.
2) I haven't looked into this much, so I don't know how easy it would be, but for those with a PVR 350, can the framebuffer be enabled at boot time so that boot messages can be seen?

Great job on Knoppmyth!

In theory yes, but its not easy and generally considered not worth the effort. Most people would use it to show a bootsplash screen on boot in preference to three minutes of a blank screen before X boots. I think this has been done by someone on another distro but haven't heard of it being done on KM.
