# Video type: SDTV # Type of system: combined front- and back-end # Noise level: I can barely hear it from 5 feet away # CASE: AOPEN XCUBE EZ18 (the case included PS and custom MB). # PSU: Standard power supply from Aopen # MOTHERBOARD: Custom motherboard # CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500 # RAM: 256 MB # CPU HEATSINK: Aopen motherboard included custom heatsink # NORTHBRIDGE HEATSINK: Aopen motherboard included custom heatsink # CD/DVD-RW: Sony # HDD: Samsubg # GRAPHICS CARD: Integrated nvideo # SOUNDCARD: Integrated sound # TUNER CARD: Hauppauge PV 150 # REMOTE CONTROL: none In the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I added the following to the -- Section "Device" -- portion of the xorg.conf file: Option "TVStandard" "NTSC-M" Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO" Option "TVOverScan" "0.6" Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV" To edit the xorg.conf file, I had to use <CTRL><ALT><F1> to get to the console, and then I logged in as root. This fix is required because there were problems with the nvidia drivers detecting if the TV was connected to the computer. JRW |

Post subject: | Same Problem with 150 card |
Hi There, I ran into a same problem with my Happa 150 cards. I have 2 of them configured differently, they are both on the same Happa chipset. The first one is for Analog TV and has an RG-6 connector stright from the wall to the card. The second one connects to a DCT2524, it connects to the Happa 150 thru the componet (Yellow, Red and White) cables. There was a huge sound difference between the two of them, I could hardly hear the second one connected with the componet cables (I even swapped out the cables). What I ended up doing was to exit Myth and go to Apps\Sound\Anmix and adjust the PCM settings to 100% (don't forget to press S to save). This helped a gread deal and now I can hear the recordings. By default it looks like the 150 was set to around 70% of the PCM and you can't hear a thing. Hope this helps. |
