I'm in the US so I use NTSC and have Comcast cable (regular).

Originally, all of my channels were off by one and the colors were all black and white. In xawtv, I was able to manually finetune them all to +15 to restore the color, but they were still off by one. CNN appeared on 27, when it should have been on 26, etc. To correct this, I found the following URL at Freevo's website:

First, I tested what they suggested by doing the following:

rmmod bttv
rmmod tuner
modprobe bttv tuner=2
xawtv

Once I confirmed that the colors and channels worked correctly, I edited my /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv file, adding the following:

modprobe bttv card=64 tuner=2

That was it! MythTV has worked great since then

MythTV has worked great since then err, I think you said "modprobe" but meant "options" in the /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv file... Hi, I just added an old ATI TV Wonder VE card to my system running 2 PVR-250s and had to tweak it to get the bttv bt878 card to work. To find out which /etv/mythtv/modules/bttv? file was being used type #modprobe -c \| grep "bttv" and look for "include". In my case it is /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv2 I added the line options bttv card=64 tuner=2 and it works fine. Verify it is showing up correctly configured by doing dmesg \| grep "bttv" \| less Andrew Lynch

One neat thing I noticed is that the ATI TV Wonder VE now supports 720x480 captures whereas before I think it was limited to a maximum resolution of 640x480 captures. The tuner works perfectly now under R5A16 and I used it to capture "the 4400" last night. It produced the BEST video I have ever seen come from that card! Cool! Andrew Lynch
