Hi all
Just got my system working.
Many problems on the way, the main ones were :
Getting the NXT6000 recognised, used
modprobe dvb-bt8xx
echo dvb-bt8xx >> /etc/modules
then chased lots of false trails before finding that /cache/cache didn't exist,
created it, set ownership to mythtv and bingo.
Just need to sort out a few details now.
Anyone with a similar setup having problems, ask me quick before I forget it all.

Have now run into the out of space problem. took the quick fix and deleted the contents of /cache/cache.
Haven't looked at more permanent solutions yet.
Where can I find what directories are on what partition, fstab isn't very helpful, hda1 and 2 are obvious but telling me that /dev/hda4 is mounted as /mnt/hda4 isn't a lot of help.
anyway, soldier on.

So it's not cache that's filling up (my first guess) but that seemed to have an effect, may have been a fluke.
Have now put a log purging script in /etc/cron.weekly, may need to move it to daily, we'll see

I appreciate the Tier 2 post, but one shouldn't continue the post if you end up having issues down the line. The hard recommendation sections is for just that....
