1. updated to latest bios
2. disabled the internal AC97 sound chip in BIOS, in two places
1) Enabled the sblive! in the BIOS
2) Disabled onboard IR
3. followed the specific nvidia install instructions of Knoppmyth.
4. Disabled uart on com1 for my com1 IR reciever.
5. Used irrecord to create a profile for my unlisted remote.
6. update mplayer (the knopp mplayer is w/o fribidi which I need)
updated the sources.list to have marillat
all working, including spdif AC3 passthru
on a side note, I have been using fc3,4 for my HTPC, but the kernel panics (in 4 mostly) got me to consider the knoopmyth.
Took me an hour to d/l and install it all. Great work, thanks
