This is generated based on what hardware is found...

Unless we mistakenly removed it, s3switch is there already...

Support for the Epia M6000. Would love to run knoppmyth out of the box on it.
I have an epia M6000, running mythtv, both frontend, backend and mysql
(does knopmyth include the backend already, if not, thats request 1:-)
To use mythtv on the epia I compile with the option -mi586 -mmmx.
Works great. I don't know if compiling for C3 would make a difference.

* newer ivtv-driver - especially with jens axboes help the pvr-350 support increased (and i have one)

* nano or joe - to edit the config files, not everyone likes VI :), both are debian packages

* acpi software suspend (so i can hibernate the pc to disk) and wake him up, is much faster then booting - http://swsusp.sourceforge.net/

thats it (for now) :)

why would you suspend a settopbox? I would think you would want it on 24/7 to catch scheduled recordings.

that's right... but for me it's more a dvd-player with additional recording, so i'd need the recording feature only some times, not every day.

I'd like to see the MADWIFI driver added to R5.
I think the addition of MADWIFI would be beneficial because I could use my Atheros based wireless pcmcia cards without needing another network card.
MADWIFI can be found at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/madwifi/

Other good info is at: http://madwifiwiki.thewebhost.de/wiki/FrontPage and http://www.mattfoster.clara.co.uk/madwifi-faq.htm

It's depencies are already in KnoppMyth R4, like iwconfig and card services. There are apt-get debs available at http://nchipin.kos.to/madwifi

I'd like to see the following feature/program added to R5.

Please reformat (or offer option) during install.

I think the addition of feature/program C would be beneficial because:

I have had the file system get in a bad mode after crash (root/.qt unavailable). I thought a reinstall would allow me to start fresh. I currently just start installing redhat to format the disk, then go back to Knopp.

Thanks,

Paul

PVR-350 TV-OUT support out of the box, OSD included of course. This would just make my year.

Thanks.

Having the asus pundit working would be great. I'm not sure if this is in knoppmyth already, but it would be nice if it was (a friend is interested in running mythtv on a pundit so I thought I'd post this here).

Here's a link about the pundit and mythtv:
http://pvrhw.goldfish.org/tiki-page.php ... =rh9pvr250
Particularly I think you guys are interested in the stuff around here:
http://pvrhw.goldfish.org/tiki-page.php ... #punditeth

Basically it looks like it needs support for the broadcom ethernet card and the onboard video.

Here's a link to the ethernet drivers:
http://www.broadcom.com/docs/driver-download.html

and here's a link to the video drivers:
http://www.winischhofer.net/sis/sis_drv ... 3-1.tar.gz

I imagine a script will have to be written to grab both drivers, as I don't think you can distribute them with knoppmyth.

Thanks,

Chris

According to the link, the Pundit uses the BCM4400. That modules is already included in R4.

# I'd like to see the following feature/program added to R5.

Support for D-Link DWL-650+ 802.11b cards.

# I think the addition of feature/program C would be beneficial because:

This is an extremely popular wireless card, and with the latest firmware can attain speeds up to 44Mbps. With support for this card, any laptop running on a Wi-Fi network with a MythTV server can easily and quickly become a frontend at the spur of the moment wherever needed.

# Feature/program X can be found at(please provide a link):

http://www.wickle.com/weblog/?p=49&more=1

(including a HOWTO)

# Program X has the following dependencies and can be found(please provide a link):

http://acx100.sourceforge.net/
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tou ... Tools.html

Alternatively, you could add the linux-wlan-ng project:

http://www.linux-wlan.org/

also available as an ebuild.

German EPG Support (Needs Phyton, etc.): http://www.bucksch.com/1/projects/various/xmltv/

And I also support the Request for PVR350 and Standby/Resume.
Example: Box turns automaticly to StandBy after 15 Min and resumes to Record something or after a User Action.

At last I like a Samba Share of the Movies/Audios.
