Typical idiot review from a typical idiot.

He spends most of his time decrying the drawbacks of MythTv, which is common to all distros, yet he blames only KnoppMyth. He also omits any information that might be helpful -- like what VERSION did he test??

<sigh>

And if you're a pioneer who likes to work with young distros or projects that are just getting off the ground, KnoppMyth would be the one for you.
KM is the oldest of the three. One might be tempted give the nod to mythdora IFF "Fedora users following Jarod's Guide" is accepted as a "pre-release" Mythdora. -- a stretch IMO. Maybe the others have passed KM in terms of manhours.

I was surprised at his comparison of KM to Mythbuntu, I had a different expreience. My conclusion, Mythbuntu has the flash, KM has the substance.

Overall, after reading all three, I was left with the impression that he was predispositioned toward Mythdora from the beginning.

The one chunk of criticism, that I hope can be seen as constructive, is that the
<paraphrase>Warning, this is unfinished and
potentially sucky software</paraphrase>
caveat has got to go from the KM installer. I understand there should be some sort of CYA, but really... I thought this myself over the last couple of upgrades. Here's concrete evidence that someone is taking the caveat to mean "This software is not ready for primetime"

Agreed. I think it is no longer accurate. KM is not in very early development stage IMO.

Well, that installer is not used _at_all_ in R6. In fact one might just be surprised at the R6 installer.

(Hmmm how do I make this joke without being too rude?)

I'm sure most of us would be surprised to see the R6 installer. :lol:

(Yes yes I know. Its a big job. KM has high standards. Quality take time, etc)

Interesting read... It is certainly interesting to see him say that MythBuntu does more than KnoppMyth... Oh well, you cannot please all of the people all of the time. Well, back to R6 development.

In a way, this isn't a joke, but rather it is very prophetic. Thanks to the creator of the installer, you'll get the joke when you see it (or rather, where the installer begins and the rest of the system end... I've also replied to this "review"...

"Did you know KnoppMyth has saved marriages and brought families closer together?"

You should put that in an R6 startup screen!
