So I found a guy who is selling Hauppage WinTV PVR-250's but they are the MCE version. Now after reading the forums of this and several other sites I can not tell if these will work since some versions do and others don't. The guy has posted the manufacturer part number as 975 and code # as 68-975. He also has a picture that may or may not be what the actual card looks like. IS the version 975 the card that DOES work with mythtv? By the way if it is I just found a guy with 117 of them for $67 a piece. I'll give you the web address for the answer. Thanks guys.

Almost 30 views and no one has a single answer for me? I don't think it is a blackbird or roslyn card but I can't be sure since every forum has a different opinion. C'mon guys, thoughts or comments?

well my though was that all pvr250's were supported with one version or another of the ivtv drivers, but I could be totaly mistaken, I haven't looked at it in quite a while, and mine is supported under every ivtv driver ever made.

But what version/model number are you running? I keep seeing the info for the MCE version of the cards but there is either 2 or 3 minor versions and only 1 of them is actually fully supported. the forums have been saying something to the effect that 1 of them is a roslyn, one is a blackbird, and one is a regular which is supported by knoppmyth. This particular version I am looking at has the fm tuner but no remote or IR port. Is this the supposrted version? Anyone have a 975 MCE card that works directly? Anyone at all?

OK so I'm going to answer my own question thanks to PCAlchemy. It seem the 975 is the MCE retail version and therefore will work with the IVTV drivers. There is a bit of a workaround to get it proper but they work none the less. Anyone want the web address of the guy selling these things for $67?

Why not post it in Off Topic? BTW: Not posting it until someone answers your question is pretty lame.

I'd like to think that my problem fell into the hardware portion of the forum as opposed to Off Topic. I'm going to pickup 2 of these cards and see if they fly. Anyone who wants the address for the guy selling them for $67 can have it if they email or reply here. I'd rather not put this out and then get blamed for 20 or more people getting these cards only to find out that they don't work due to discepencies and blackbird chipsets. Apparently they may wor with a touch of tweaking in the ivtv drivers version 10. The card itself is a PVR-250 model 975 which is apparently a retail version versus the OEM version. It does FM instead of Remote. If anyone out there has several of the remote versions and wants to trade an FM for a remote version I'm game.

I'm also having a bit of a problem with Knoppmyth but I'll post that in Tier 1 - Noobs section.

I meant post the link to the seller in Off Topic. Folks post information about sales there... I don't think anyone would blame you if the card didn't work.... It isn't like you're holding a gun to thier head and telling them to buy the card. Tier 1 isn't where you post issues if you have hardware problems. The three tiers are for hardware recommendation.

cesman ponders if anyone read the description of the topics on the forum...

Cesman I'm at work at the moment so I was "firing from the hip" in regards to software issues I'm having with the Knoppmyth Distor R4V4.1 (or somethign to that effect) and stating I would post that in another forum that was suitable for it...and tier 1 support happened to come to mind though it is obviously now wrong. I will go ahead and place the website address in the Off Topic section as you recommended since you say no one will hold it against me if it doesn't work. As for software issues I am having which particular forum do you recommend I utilize for these as I am unsure based on your labeling scheme.

Ok I see where you have the layoutlisted. For some of us morons  who tend to jump the gun a bit early might I recommend placing that sticky in all of the forums under knoppmyth? Sorry bout all of that. Will post more about the seemingly software sided problems I'm having when I get home tonight. Thanks for the help.
