I work too much, I'll confess, I use mythtv at the office.

Is there a way to slave or mirror my backend at the office to a box at my house? I have a 2.8 meg link (adsl) between my house and the office which isn't quit enough for a frontend to simply work.

If I setup a slave will it automatically syncronize or will it wait until I want to watch something and then cache it?

A slave backend doesn't sync up with the master. Think of the slave backend as a frontend with a tuner. I suppose if you just wanted to watch "live" TV on the slave at your office, that would work. I suppose if you setup a distributed filesystem you may be able to achieve what you want.
