My old system kept randomly crashing so I need to build a new FE/BE. In total it came to $340 (-40 mail-in rebates) w/ re-using my DVD drive and Tuners from my old one.

Only problem I had was getting HDMI audio out. First I had to disable the on-board audio, run "
aplay -l", and did a "
aplay -D plugw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav" and "
aplay -D plugw:0,7 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav" to find the correct output, I stopped at 7 because it was the correct one you might have to go 8 and 9.
I modified my
/etc/asound.conf as follows;
Code:
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave {
pcm "hw:0,7"
}
}
Once this was done I went in the LinHes Setup and set 0,7 as my playback device. and then in the MythTv setting to the correct one also.
My
aplay -l is as follows
Code:
