So my Wife's 8 GB micro-SD card is only showing up as 31 MB in Linux and windows. FSCK even thinks that it only has one sector and that it is 31 MB large. When I search the internet for "31 MB Raw", which is how windows describes it, I see a bunch of people with dead SD cards and half the idiots that are trying to "help" telling them they got a counterfeit card off Ebay. Has anyone else ever seen this? The stuff on the card would be nice to have but is not irreplaceable.

Have you tried the card in the original device/system where it was formatted?

long story even longer, It was in my wife's EVO 3D a tower near our house freaked out and my wife's phone started going in and out of roaming mode until her phone just stopped working no cell, no text, no nothin. She spent an hour on my phone with Sprint they had her do all sorts of resets and still nothing. She took it into the store and they say that the tower corrupted her micro-SD card. needless to say they gave her a new phone and SD card. I also have an EVO 3D I tried it in my phone and had no luck. I tried my SD card reader my Sansa Clip+, and my phone nothing worked and her phone is obviously gone.

Freaked out tower? Wow, never heard that happening here. But anyway, if you've tested the card in a similar device, my (a bit far fetched) thought is useless. I would try recovery tools (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_da ... y_software), but it's quite possible that the data is gone. Which reminds me that I should check that my backup systems work...
