Were finally going to be upgrading to a ultra small form factor PC (Dell Inspiron Zino 400 HD) from a tower. I'm sure the Zino 400 HD has an internal IR Receiver. Does anyone know what "Receiver" to select during setup? Apart from that it seems to be a cracking bit of kit ;)

Will also be looking to transfer the recordings at a later time ;)

Google is probably a good idea here... you can also inspect the output of the following tools from an ssh session:
Code:
dmesg
lspci
lsusb

I've never managed to get into a console, could someone give me some pointers on how to bring up a terminal?

Haven't used the LH CD in a loooong time but you can boot using another distro's live environment to figure it out. Try the official Arch image and see the wiki if you need to know how write to a USB: https://www.archlinux.org/download

I finally got around to concluding this. I suspect as the Zino uses an ATI radion graphics chip I suspect the propriety drivers are not used or supported on the LinHES image if I remember correctly the LAN card is a Broadcom LAN card - again the drivers do not seemed to be included in the later version as it is not detected during installation when using 8.3 onwards. On a brighter note the Zino works fine under Mythbuntu.
