I am in the middle of troubleshooting the video coming through my PVR-250. In my initial setup, I set tuner0 as the default. I would like to change that to a composite, since I have digital cable.

I also tried cp /dev/video test.mpg for a basic test of the video coming in. What do I need for play that file on Windows. The only linux machine i have is my myth machine.

thanks for any help you can give me

Matt

that may work.. never tried.. but most people do this

Code:
cat /dev/video > /myth/test.mpg

to play it on windows i like to use VLC player becuase it has deinterlace capabilites.. makes the video look MUCH better.

Thank you for suggesting VLC. It opens the mpg file just fine.

I am still testing the different video sources that are coming into my PVR-250. I will post what i find out.

thanks again

Matt

Doing cat /dev/video > /myth/test.mpg worked just fine. But the file only captured a black screen. I would like to capture the video coming in through the tuner input. What is the default input for the PVR-250. When i looked through the syslog, it mentioned Composite. Where would I change the input for the PVR-250?

thanks for the help in advance.

well for mythtv you set it in the mythtv-setup program, for general use you would have to use ivtvctl or test_ioctl depending on the version of ivtv you are using.
