Hi

I am trying to install knopMYTH on my new VIA epia board.
When i do a manual install, after i partion my disk, and save it, i cant continue the install. no matter what i try, it just wont continue, i am just stuck in a cycle where i can partion my disk and nothing. after i partition it the first time, the hd is partiotioned. I make sure, that when i have to select disk to partion, that there is a X in the HD selection screen.

When i have partion the disk, i chose quit.. and that just left me whit the partion the disk screen again, no matter how many times i partion it, i just get there all the time.. any ideas?

realy its driving my crazy :)

any particular reason you are not using autoinstall?

ahh so you're using either scsi or sata knoppmyth just really does not like either one of those at the moment. There are numerous posts about sata, you can try searching for ideas in those.

This can also happen if you've got you PATA drives configured funny. If you're having trouble with a PATA drive, make sure you have it connected as the primary master device and jumpered appropriately (this usually means CS rather then MA or SL). It's very easy to plug your cable into the wrong MoBo connector, or plug the drive into the wrong connector on the cable, or set/forget the jumpers in the wrong config.

As TJC said the autoinstall error will show up if the drive is not set as primary master, however the manual install I would think should work as long as it's PATA, but there have been various problems with the manual install. Is there any way you can make the drive master instead of slave?

alright made it work.. the solution was:

1. edit "/etc/X11/XF86Config-4" file
2. set Option "DPMS" to "false"

if any one else need it
