I have found the option to sort recorded programs by original airdate, however i would like to be able to display them in the watch recordings program listings...

does anyone know where i should start? the ui.xml names dont look like they correspond to the mysql field names... i tried a forum and web search and didn't turn up answer... did find a sweet new mythlink.sh though! http://cvs.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/186

i suppose this might be a myth source hack rather than a ui theme thing...

thanks for any help or "this cant be done" you can provide :)

Ok, i made some progress, contrary to what i said before, even though the xml names dont look like they correspond to the mysql database field names, a change i made halfway worked...

i replaced the "timedate" with "originalairdate" as follows in the <container name="program_info_play"> container...

<textarea name="originalairdate" draworder="6">
<area>194,74,440,30</area>
<font>info</font>
</textarea>

(im using the blue theme)

and now the watch recordings description area shows the original airdate as "Thu May 16" (for a specific show) now i just need to figure out how to get it to show the year too... there must be a function somewhere that is returning that output date format from the database entry which is "2002-05-16"

That one is easy. You just need to change the default date formating, which you can do from the setup screens...
