When I put in the knoppmyth cd it starts loading fine but eventually gives me 2 errors. The first is "azx_get_response timeout" which usually repeats multiple times and sometimes just continually repeats so that all i see on the screen are those errors. The second error is "Error: No CLE266 VGA adapter found", which is followed by "Inserting DVB modules into kernel" and then the installation just hangs. I have been browsing the forum but have not been able to find a conclusive reason why either error occurs and what the source is. The hard drives are completely clean but that shouldn't be relevant as I never even see a menu or get an installation choice. I have also tried different installation modes such as expert, failsafe, and knoppmyth 2 but all resulted in the same problem. A third problem is that sometimes when loading the CD the computer just reboots. I am at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated

Relevant Specs:
Jetway A200 GDMS motherboard w/ onboard ati radeon express video
Athlon 64 3000+
2 WD SATA 250 gig hard drives

I've no idea what the first message is... The second can be ignored. Perhaps testing your memory? Sounds like hardware issues.

It's always good to Google the exact text of your error. I did and it turned up this:

http://www.mail-archive.com/kubuntu-bug ... 02029.html

which implicates your onboard sound. Worth a try.

For future reference, I believe I have found the problem. This motherboard uses ULI SATA/RAID, which apparently aren't very well supported in linux. After I switched the 2 SATA hard drives for an EIDE, the installation went perfectly smooth. So I'm guessing hard drive detection/mounting occurred right after the "Inserting DVB modules into kernel message" and because it couldn't find the right drivers it just froze. That's my theory anyway.
