I've just built myself a PVR and now I'm trying to install KnoppMyth. The problem is that I can't get the CD to boot. I tried it using one cdrom and it worked, but VERY VERY slowly. I tried again with another CD and it either doesn't even try to boot from the CD or just sits there prior to even getting to the initial boot screen. I tried booting with my Windows XP cd and it worked fine. I tried booting the KnoppMyth in another computer and it also booted fine.

Any ideas?

I pulled out my cd drive from the computer which was able to boot from the CD and put in into the pvr and it seems to have worked fine. I guess there was something about the CD which prevented both the previous cdroms to not work. Arg.

Well it seems like it installed, but now when I try to boot I'm getting a kernel panic.

Maybe a bad burn. We still aren't at the point where home burned data disks are a 100% proposition (test 'em before you depend on 'em!), and even a good disk isn't going to be 100% compatible with other drives.

Try booting from the CD as usual, but add the "testcd" option.
