This is really odd. For somereason the install script hangs right after I exit mythtv-setup and it runs mythfilldatabase. It almost completes filling the database i.e. it fills channel data and icon data. Then it says
Updating programs....

And hangs. This is after it downloads data for approximatley day 7. The box completely locks up. No switching terminals no ssh. This happens like clockwork. I can reinstall and re-create the error and it hangs everytime at the same place. I've tried different media etc... I've installed on this box previously and I know the hardware works. I just can't seem to put my finger on this one.

So the question is:

Is mythfilldatabase or the zap2it service broken right now sending bad data to fill the mysql db?

Is there anyway I can get it to exit the install script and I will run the commands manually?

Sure, you can <ctrl><c> to stop the script. This is odd... I'd recommend testing your memory as well. If you boot off the CD and use 'memtest', it will run memtest86.

I've since abandoned the memory in the box after trying to switch out all possible hardware other than that. Right now i'm just trying a fedora install because I noticed last night that would hang as well on installing off of cd 1. So new memory and we're seeing if I can atleast install fedora.

It appears it may have been the memory because now the fedora installation is a lot further than its ever gotten. It used to hang on cd one. I'll let it complete then most likely I will go back to knoppmyth after stealing the tv from my son.
