I'm having trouble with knoppmyth.. um... whatever is current... I downloaded and burnt the disk yesterday.

I have one hard drive in my system, a 10,000 rpm scsi, about 9 gig ( I need to reformat the 160 gig)

I have an adaptec 29160n scsi controller, which uses the aic7xxx_CAUTION.o driver. I have tried using 'expert' and specified this driver when asked, but it makes no difference.

I have a dvd rom drive connected via ide.

It hangs at 'Scanning for harddisk partitions and creating /etc/fstab'

It boots if I use nofstab... but I can't install like that.

Can anyone give me any guidance?

Also tried nodma and noapic
