NOTE: This has nothing to do with MythTV... but it does have to do with KnoppMyth box.

My laptop with my DVD burner is on the fritz so I can't burn an ISO to my DVD drive with NERO in windows like I normally do. But my KnoppMyth box does have a DVD RW so I should be able to burn it on that box, right?

I can SCP the ISO to my Myth box but I am unfamiliar with Linux so I don't know the commands to do it.

Can someone help me? I know the box is able because I have burned many of my TV recordings to DVD.

Thanks for any help.

man growisofs (thats what I look at each time because I can never remember)
or just:
man growisofs | grep growisofs
will show you the command line examples.

Sweet, success!

growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=/path_to_iso/image_name.iso

did the trick. Linux rules. Windows would (did) cost money to get an application that would do this AND it takes a lot more than just one little line typed at the console.

Thanks for the help!

Can I use the same command to burn a CDR?

If so what do I change in the command line syntax?

I looked up some help on growisofs but all I could find was reference to DVD burning.

Thanks again!

P.S. I can't wait to burn the next copy of KnoppMyth and hand them out to my "blue" friends!

I think I got it...

I was searching for the wrong answer and found this:

cdrecord -v -pad speed=1 dev=/dev/cdrom /path_to_iso/iso_name.iso

and it seems to be working...
