what would be the commonest reason for the install to halt for minutes/hours at "setting default volumes"
I have checksum on iso right, re-burned CD several times and changed to new dvd drive

Hello Drhayward,

A number of us are having similar problems with the computer hanging at "Setting default volumes" (with AC97 soundcards) without resolution so far.

Please share the details of the tricks and steps you had to use to get this to work...

Thanks

Same thing I tried - I got past the sound problem, but am now having video problems, so it didn't really get me anywhere.
