Hi!

I've used a Pixelview PlayTV Mpeg2 configured as card=70 in R5C7. The /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv was:
Code:
alias char-major-81     videodev
alias char-major-81-0   bttv
options bttv card=70 tuner=42 radio=1

Auto-upgraded to R5D1 and the system detects the card as UNKNOWN/GENERIC, as you can see in dmesg output:
Code:
bttv: driver version 0.9.16 loaded
bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).
ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [APC3] enabled at IRQ 18
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:08.0[A] -> Link [APC3] -> GSI 18 (level, high) -> IRQ
 19
bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:01:08.0, irq: 19, latency: 32, mmio: 0xde000000
bttv0: using:  *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC ***  [card=0,autodetected]
bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00ffd4ff [init]
tveeprom 2-0050: Huh, no eeprom present (err=-121)?
bttv0: using tuner=-1
bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP34xx @ 0x80... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9875 @ 0xb0... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA7432 @ 0x8a... not found
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9887 @ 0x86... not found
bttv0: registered device video0
bttv0: registered device vbi0

I've tried to cp /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv to /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv0 and /etc/modutils/bttv (and update-modules after all little change). Nothing changes.

Tried also use card=139 (the correct card number in this kernel version). Nothing changes.

Does anybody can help me?

Thanks in advance.

Try putting the options line in the /etc/modprobe.conf file. This is a change in the kernel module setup between older versions and R5D1.

I have this same card and it seems to be working fine in R5E50, but Im missing the remote (was there in the older versions). Any ideas?

I have lirc installed from debs, and that let me pick playtv mpeg2. copied over my old lircrc. Everything is ready, but when I do dmesg | grep remote, I get nothing.

In /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv0 I have
options bttv card=70,38 tuner=43,8 radio=1,0 bttv_gpio=1,0 remote=1,1

where the first card is the pixelview.

do i need to load gpio or any lirc modules at some place for this to be recognized?

In R5E50, try this:

In /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv:

alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
options bttv card=139 radio=1 tuner=43

(modify it to match your second card)

At the end of /etc/lirc/hardware.conf:

#MODULES="lirc_dev lirc_i2c"
MODULES="lirc_dev lirc_gpio"

Copy the file /usr/local/share/knoppmyth/remotes/pixelview_pro/etc/lircd.conf to /etc and /etc/lirc (don't know which is the right place to it).

Maybe you must change your lircrc file.

Should work. Good luck!
