Yeah, they've locked or deleted several threads, and made some snippity announcements about how posting messages about the problem won't get it fixed any faster. Whoever is posting there as 'labsadmin' seems to have a pretty contemptuous attitude towards the community.

Missed Office here too last night. Wifey is pissed. Thread at Zap2It is now locked, so no more complaining over there.

Really? That sucks.

I recorded it ok, but I knew it was going to be screwed up.

I'm not seeing them. Which threads are you looking at?

I'm inclined to cut them a lot of slack, considering the service is not only free, but costs them for the bandwidth.

People are creating new threads about it over at zap2it forums. I don't think its going to get fixed anytime soon. I think that the people who make mythtv need to come up with an alternative for datadirect.

I think they need to migrate to a paid service asap. Something like $25/yr ought to do. I'd happily pay, and wifey would happily send the check.
Which reminds me: My old TiVo annual sub date will come and go in June. I think I'll honor the occasion by sending a little something to the KM team....

They just made an announcement that the problem should be fixed within the next week.

Here is the link for it. http://bb.labs.zap2it.com/viewtopic.php?t=1222

A MythTV achillies heal is being tied to a single service for TV schedules. There needs to be the facility to change providers or even compare schedule conflicts. Like you, I would be willing to pay an annual fee if needed, but free is nice when it works :)

I understand their frustration, but there would have been a lot less complaining if there had been just one "official" thread. Their first acknowledgement of the problem (that I saw) was a one-liner, two pages deep on a thread about some specific lineup problem (in a forum dedicated to lineup problems).
If they had just made an official "Schedule bug, generic descriptions and repeats, affects everyone, we're working on it, April 2007" sticky thread, they would have not had all those complaints. Instead, it would be dozens of posts saying "Thanks, Man!"
I won't bother posting this rant over there, they'd just ding me for complaining and lock/delete the thread....

That's the primary one I've been reading. I hadn't noticed, until now, that it had been locked though.

The Ditto statement didn't really come across as nasty to me though. It didn't come across as contemptuous to users.

Maybe this is why sometimes people read my posts and think I'm being mean.

It looks like they fixed it. I did mythfilldatabase --refresh-all and a majority of the generics are gone.
