I've recently setup an R5E50 system for a buddy. It's running a PVR 150 connected to a cable box and everything was going mostly smooth except for a few minor hiccups.

1) Our IR blaster is not consistently changing the channel. (I've since brought it home and will be testing it more thoroughly on my system - purcahsed at the same place as mine)

2) We had to install the backend babysitter script which was easy and seems to have completely solved that issue.

Aside from that things are running quite good. I do have a few questions though. When we started having trouble with the IRblaster we decided to just run analog cable for the time being and took the cable box out of the equation completely until we get that solved. Our TV listings are still showing all his digital channels though. We logged into labs.zap2it.com and setup a second lineup there with just the analog stations, then went into his Myth settings and removed the Svideo entry (we were using Svid from the box to the PVR card) and setup the new lineup on the coax tuner. Re-ran mythfilldatabase hoping it would reset his listings, and display only his analog channels, but we are still seeing all his digital channels listed. How do I dump his Listings and re-load them via Mythfilldatabase?

As well, is there a good writeup anywhere an attempting to get a Cable Terminal and a PC talking to each other via serial cable? His cable terminal has a serial port, but I don't know if it's active, and I'm not really sure how to properly probe it and check to see if that might be a possible workaround for the IR troubles we've been having.

Too lazy to update this with my current hardware, I'll redo it during my next install =)

Using the --refresh-all option to mythfilldatabase should give you a complete refresh. If the problem is orphaned channels in the lineup you may need to use --do-channel-updates and if that doesn't do it go into mythtv-setup and drop the "video source" and recreate it and the input connections.
