I currently have a PcHDTV5500 that works fine, and today tried to add a the brand new dvico fusion 5 express. After I boot, knoppmyth senses the new card, asks for the root password, and finds an unknown card with a conextant chip, then launches mythsetup.

Mythsetup only sees my original "card 0" and cant find any other cards. I have even tried removing my original pcHDTV5500 card.

Any ideas? Is anyone else use the Dvico Fusion 5 Express?

I too have that card but I do not believe it is supported yet in linux. I reviewed the linux tv site and basically no pcie tuner cards are supported. I was using mine under windows, so either will have to go back to windows or just wait for the support in linux. Let me know what you find out.
Thanks

Did you get this card to work? I saw over at linuxtv.org that the digital portion is supported. No analog yet though. http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/ATSC_PCIe_Cards

Is R5F27 running the latest v4l-dvb drivers? I have one of these cards, but it doesn't seem to be recognized in the Setup.

Code:
root@mythtv:/home/dogbuns# lspci | grep -i multimedia
02:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Unknown device 8852 (rev 02)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

After a little more digging, it seems this card is supported in the module cx23885 but this mod is not installed on my setup. I see in another post that cesman has included an updated version of the v4l-dvb drivers. So, I am at the point I need some direction. I am a willing guinea pig who can follow direction in the terminal, but I'm not sure where to go from here.

Do I need to reinstall the v4l-dvb even though cesman says those are up to date?
Do I just install the cx23885 module? How would I do that?
I have seen references to needing an updated kernel (although cesman states R5F27 is more up to date than that version), do I need to worry about a kernel recompile?

I have included links to some using this card on Ubuntu and the linuxtv.org thread about this card/module.

Thanks for any help. It would be great to get this card working for anyone running short of PCI slots.
