I have had my system running well for a couple weeks. I dont know how to explain this problem so i wasnt able to search and find anything. When watching TV the screen flashes for like 1 frame (VERY FAST) another frame that doesnt belong... probley a previous frame?? its really weird.. it doesnt happen all the time, and it doesnt happen in intervals as far as i can tell.. sometimes its 10 seconds between times..30 seconds.. sometimes its 10 minutes. I debated if i should post this because how vauge it was, but i figured ill give it a shot. I have a PVR 250 that i had to recompile ivtv to get sound working.

amd 3000+
1 gig ram
nvidia mx4000
pvr250
200gig 7200 rpm

Ahem... Did you search? I know this has been posted before...

The short answer is that this is a known IVTV driver bug which has been fixed in more recent development versions. The last time it annoyed me enough to think about upgrading however the development versions were at a cyclical peak of instability...

well ill try to recompile IVTV. A couple problems with that though... the last version that came out was 0.1.10pre2.. that came out 3-31-04 after R4V4.1 came out.. (without checking) i think IVTV is the newest one. second problem.. at least at the moment the IVTV downloads page cannont be contacted... the main page is up though...

a couple quick updates.. i did recompile IVTV, the reason i hadnt done that before was because, when i setup my knoppmyth box with the 250 two weeks ago i did recompile it so i could get sound to work. The difference is that i followed the directions in the forum that did the MAKE.. but not the make install. Instead it says to copy one of the files by hand. this skips several of the newly compiled files. so this time i did the make install. and so far its not messing up. anyway thats why i didnt recompile it... because i thought i had. :)

2nd thing.. i dont understand IVTV's version numbers.. if you go to..
http://ivtv.sourceforge.net/ it says the newest version is .. 0.1.10pre2 but knoppmyth comes with 1.9.. and if you download directly from sourceforge it downloads 1.9. ohh well =)

actually I believe that myth comes with 0.1.9 I really wish they would go ahead and release 0.1.10, because there is sooo much functionality that has been added, but you hate to use prelease code for a beta project.
