Hiya

I have a cool Elonex Artisan case which I am setting up with km for my dad. It has a single line lcd and MCE IR receiver built in to the front of the case. I got an older MCE remote off ebay, and it worked straight away after running the lirc-reconfig script. HURRAY !!! The case also shipped with 2 ir blasters, which plug into jack ports off the back, which are just standard MCE blasters. Is there a script or anything to run or configure to get one or both of these working ? I have tried the IRblaster script, but that seems to be only for serial blasters

You will need to add the definition for the remote that can control the device you want to /etc/lirc/lircd.conf to use this device. The lirc website has these definitions or you can create your own if you have access to the remote control.

Once this remote is added, restart lirc and then use the irsend command to control your device.

Be warned, I have not been able to get the supplied IR blasters to control my devices. I have verified the IR blaster is working using a camcorder in IR mode. I have had to resort to a serial IR blaster to control my device.
