I'm trying to get "irexec --daemon" to run at logon... I've tried ./fluxbox/apps and ./fluxbox/startup for all users including root and I get nothing.

The syntax I use is :

[startup] {irexec --daemon /home/mythtv/lircrc.conf}

I'm running KnoppMyth R5.5

Any ideas??

Does the line
Code:
[startup] {launch_irx.sh}
in /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps not do what you want it to do (or maybe it doesn't exist in 5.5 - I don't have a 5.5 install to check)? This calls /usr/local/bin/launch_irx.sh on my R5F27 systems, which puts irexec in the background...

I do have that line... so I have to remove the line I'm adding and configure the script somehow to use my lircrc file...

Not too sure how I go about doing that...???

Try putting your config file in /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc . That is what launch_irx.sh picks up. Then the default apps file will do what you want without changing it.

You might want to back up the existing /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc file first to be safe.

The actual file should be at /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc and there should be a symlink from /home/mythtv/.lircrc to there. If you end up with two different files things get screwy.
