I have just installed a second PVR250, both 980. Thanks to the posts on this board, what I thought may take a few days took maybe an hour to get it going. I have a couple of questions:

1. When I press M then PIP/Enable it takes about 10 seconds before PIP is displayed.

2. The PIP playback is jerky, pauses for a couple of seconds then plays like double speed then pauses or is jerky again.

When I press Y to switch cards it plays fine. When I bring up the video0 in PIP it does same thing in PIP as video1. However they both play fine when I switch to use that card.

Are both of these issues normal behavior for the PIP window?

Just to update. I used
ivtv-0.1.10-pre2-ck114i.tgz from
http://67.18.1.101/~ckennedy/ivtv/
Later that night they also have
ivtv-0.1.10-pre2-ck114j.tgz
I installed that latest one and still have same jerkiness as described above.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Same problem here. Two Hauppauge PVR-250-MCE's, both able to capture independently, but PIP (even with static) is extremely jumpy. I've got DMA enabled on the hard drive and I'm using ck114f.

From what I have seen at Gossamer, this might be a driver issue. I followed some links here to get it working, but didn't try it with 0.1.19 driver. All the posts said to use the latest ivtv driver. I posted same message at gossamer. If I don't get any response there I will try to rollback to 0.1.19 or try a few different older drivers. One post I ran accross said something about that this started happening to ivtv with .100 and up. I'll post here if I find out what is up.

my guess would have been an ivtv issue, because I have a pvr and a sofware card and do not have this issue, and I know someone with 2 m179 cards running the 100z and he doesn't have that problem either.

Jarod Wilson (and others) answered my post on Goasamer. I found out that the ivtv drivers are causing this. They said it has something to do with when vbi? was added. I put went back as far as ivtv....100z and it still did it. According Jarod the ivtv team is aware of this and it is on their todo list.
It is not such a big deal and I can wait until it is fixed.
