hey,
so I've been messing with my master backend for a while now, I recnetly added a third tuner... the pvr-350, it's great, but because I've got a frontend upstairs (no tuners, 10 gig hard drive, it IS just a frontend ;). I was thinking it might be a good idea to take the pvr-350 out of the backend, put it in the frontend so it would have a tuner which would run sufficiently, but would all those shows recorded with the pvr-350 need to stay on that hard drive, or could I have them transfer to the master backend or something odd like that... I'm really just asking if I need to add a nice big hard drive to the frontend upstairs if I want to add a tuner, and I already have a backend...

All shows are recorded to one location. You'll need to setup NFS to record the shows from the 350 (slave backend) to the master backend. That a look at LinHES for ideas.

hmm... well, I've followed the LinHES instructions and my master backend keeps crashing, and I think I'm getting alot of export errors... so, just to clarify, you're saying I'll have to do alot more then just follow the LinHES instructions alone?

well, it is now working!!! I'm smoothing out the edges though because I can't get the master backend to use the slave backend's card as its default for live tv... actually, the worst problem is that the slave backend (the pvr-350 is using 90% of the processor, so the video is real choppy and so is the audio) but, not a big deal, I'll figure it out eventually, so if anyone is wondering, cesman is awesome...
