I've been reading this forum for a little bit and after trying to solve my problems on my own I'm hoping for a little guidance. First the basics:

Hardware
AMD Athlon XP 2700+
Asus AV7 600 X
Leadtek MX4000 128 Mb w/ Comp and S-Video out
256 Mb RAM
WD 200GB IDE HD
PVR-250 (Two) Not sure how to tell the exact "type"
Sony CD-R Drive

The Problem
Snow when I select "Watch TV" (although program information is present along with the time) and only one of my tuner cards is present in MythTV setup. Also, the remote doesn't work, but that is not the main problem!

Steps Taken So Far
1) All coax cable lines work
2) Cards have been swapped in and out to check that 2nd card isn't DOA
3) updated the IVTV driver with ivtv-0.2.0-rc3c

just make sure you edit the IVTV file in etc/mythtv/modules/
to reflect the tuner type....

might be 39....

are both of these the retail version of the 250? Search the forum for a pvr 250 guide on how to tell which card revision you have....

I updated my ivtv drivers to version 2.0RC3 and set the tuner type=39 in /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv and my cards started working. Good luck my fellow newbie, we're both hacking at this stuff. :D
