Help

I am having fits getting rid of the puple & green tv screen. I have done the suggestions placed on this board, yet to no avail. My PVR350 is brand new and I am wondering how to get what tuner type I have. Another question I have, do I need to remove old ivtv compiles before compiling a newer version of the driver. I have just been compiling.

Thanks

Addendum:

I guess what I am asking is do I need to do a rmmod ivtv before compiling a newer version. If this is true, do I need to kill or rmmod any other features? If so, what other mods need removing? Sorry about this question I am a newbie to Linux and I have spent hours on this stupid "Green Purple" problem. PLease have mercy before I go completely nuts!

Thanks

There seems to be some wrong numbers floating around for use in the ivtvctl command. Look carefully at the numbers posted on this forum and in the wiki. Try each one. Also look at this thread since you will probally have that problem as well. I'm not at home so I can't give you the exact numbers I used.

You can run the ivtvctl command from a shell and see the instant results so you don't have to reboot every time you want to try something new.

I had the same problem. You should not have to remove anything. Be sure that after you compile the driver that you copy it over and change the name. I didn't change the name once and it was quite a while before I figured it out. Notice you change the second "_" to a ".".

Code:
#copy & rename driver
cd /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/
cp /usr/src/ivtv-0.3.1x/utils/ivtvdev_drv_o ivtvdev_drv.o

I have a new PVR350 also, and I use tuner 44 and don't have any problems with it. If you want to see exactly what you have the instructions here will help you. I have not used these patches.

Maybe post the IVTV portion of /var/log/messages between these lines:
Code:
Jan 16 09:09:14 tvbox0 kernel: ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================
Jan 16 09:09:16 tvbox0 kernel: ivtv: ====================  END INIT IVTV  ====================
