Hello i have been searching forums for the last 5 hours and have not been able to find an answer to my problem. I recently bought a shuttle barebones system and put in a amd duron 1.8 ghz chip 512 mb memory and a 80 gb seagate SATA drive(which i think is my problem). I am lost on the install i get the cd to boot andhave tried to do the auto install and the manual install with no luck. When i do the auto indstall i get an error that says "can't locate module block-major-3". When i try manual install i get an error that says"expected at least 7 tokens for --radiolist, have 4". I am new to linux and not sure what the problem is if someone could help me and explain what i should do as if i am in 5th grade that would be great. Thanks

you need to search the forums for sata there is an option in most bios's that needs to be set which makes linux see it as hda that's the problem knoppmyth will only install on hda.

He can do a manual install to SATA drives. This is documented in the pamphlet. As for the problem, it is an anomalous one... How much memory do you have?
