Hi,
I've been searching all over google and this forum for an answer to this.

When I try to watch live tv I get a black screen then it goes black.
My set up is as follows:

Duron 1600
Geforce2 MX for S-Video out
PVR-250
Sound Blaster Live!

I installed knoppmyth, configured the pvr in myth for Tuner 0.
Set up the xmltv for my zip code and provider.
But when I try to watch live tv I get a black screen then grey and hangs.
I have to go into terminal and kill the frontend.

So am I missing some configuration point here?
And yes I have read the mythTv documentation and the example ivtv/hauppauge install guide.

Please some help?
Thanks!

When you get the black screen, press <ctrl><alt><f1> and log in...If ivtv is working properly it will spit out information. Anything in log? Start mythfrontend from an xterm. watch tv then kill it. Anything in the xterm?

Well before you replied I removed the sound and network.
And tried xawtv, and then mplayer.
from mplayer I got channel 3.
So when I put back the sound or the network (not at the same time).
I got the black screen again.
went <ctrl> <alt> <f1> and saw itvt spitting out timeout waiting for data.

What does that mean?

It means it is waiting for data...Do you have a 250 or 350? Try changing the PCI slot the card is in. What chipset does you motherboard have? Problems have ben reported w/ Via chipsets and ivtv. You can also try updating the ivtv drivers.

Thank you for your help.
I just changed the pvr-250 to a different pci slot and it worked.
Just like that. Go figure.
Now I just got to figure out why I have to:
test_ioctrl -y mute=0 everytime I reboot to get sound, and figure out the key mapping for the hauppauge remote for lirc. But that's not too big of a deal I think.

Again thanks for the help.

Well the first sound problem has been covered several times look at the knoppmyth-run script in .fvwmrc a search of the forums should find the thread on it.

and as far as the key mapping are you wanting to change them from what they are now or is it just not working? cause if you installed the install-i686-l script and have the haupagge grey remote they you should be in business. Unless your just wanting to modify what some of the buttons do, In that case you'll just have to look at the keys.txt file and lircrc file and modify as you wish.
