I get this reponse when I attempt to use mythweb, even though the frontend is working fine:

Fatal Error at /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/includes/mythbackend.php, line 17:
Unable to connect to mythbackend, is it running?

The system administrator has been notified and the problem will be remedied shortly.

Any ideas?

Restart the backend. Did you update to 0.13? If so, from source or debs?

Restarting the backend did the trick! Thanks!

Keep up the great work. This project gave me the boost i needed to get off my butt and try mythtv.

Thanks again.

I guess I spoke too soon. :(

The main program listing was shown the first time I connected.
I think clicked on a program and receieved the following page:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning at /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/includes/mythbackend.php, line 71:
fsockopen(): unable to connect to 127.0.0.1:6543
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fatal Error at /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb/includes/mythbackend.php, line 17:
Unable to connect to mythbackend, is it running?
The system administrator has been notified and the problem will be remedied shortly.

Now I can't access the main page anymore.
Restarting the backend causes this scenario to repeat.

Any more ideas?

Your backend is dying for some reason...Check the log in /var/log/mythtv/

The no capture cards thing is right because I don't have one in this machine yet.

You can ignore the QSettings error. It will not work without a capture card...

I have had the same error and been struggling to find a solution. Please post the solution if you can find it. There wasn't anything inside my mythbackend.log file. It showed everything started normally and worked fine. My frontend works alright and everything else within mythweb works except for the program_listing.php.
What are u running Mythtv on? I currently have it running from Fedora Core 1 on a M10000 EPIA board.

I finally got mythweb to work consistently. Apparently you must have some sort of capture card defined even if your machine doesn't actually have one installed on the machine. Wow, what a pain...
