I just installed knoppmyth and followed pretty much these guides:

http://www.bitbenderforums.com/~ralpha6 ... mythtv.htm
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ht=pvr+500

And i importet my channel list and added the frequencies from tdc in the channels ( Danish cabel operator ) but when i press "watch TV" only a black screen comes up .... anyone got an idea and are there any log-files i can post that be more help full than my noob talk ?

ill be gratefull if any one could help

never mind i think i found the problem

I swapped the card to a windows machine and it keeps rebooting my system when i search for channels there and if i get a channel locked and is watching it the computer reboots after a short time ..... so i believe the card could be brooken so tomorrow ill try and swap it for a pvr 350 instead

Certain older VIa chipsets had a DMA or IRQ problem with the PVR cards. I forget which... However a search for "via" and "ivtv" should turn up the details.

I am having the exact same problem (intel chipset) Everything in the dmesg output seems to point to a working PVR 500 (or 2 working pvr-150), But when I click live tv I get a black screen which also locks the machine up. I am unable to exit the black screen with any keyboard commands. I am attempting to use R5A16. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

the big thing I see is tveeprom is detecting tuner type 56 but you are setting the tuner type to 57.

I tried to change the setting tuner=57,57 to tuner=56.

One of the test i did run after this i could change between the channels but the only thing i could see was 3/4 of the screen was red and the bottom part were full of "noise" and it only happend 1 time after this i got the blackscreen which mythtv jumps out off after 10-30 sec

I returned my pvr 500 card to the reseller who switched it. So i went home and plugged the card in my computer and startet without installing knoppmyth again. And now i can watch live tv ..... it still static but something is showing not a black screen so i believe it's my frequincy who is the problem now so ill do a tweak on them to see if it will work
