First off let me say that R4v2 is great. I only had a few minor problems with it and the biggest problems are in the new documentation. Thanks a ton Cecil and Dale!

Now for the problems.

1) The new documentation isn't as clear nor accurate as for R4. Specifically, the docs tell me to type install-nvidia to install the nvidia drivers. However, you really need to type install-nvidia.sh. In addition, the way the docs are written made me think that I only needed to use that nvidia install script if I wanted XvMC support. And for my own edification, what is XvMC? Anyway, after not being able to get the tv out to work right I went back to the old docs and realized I missed that step. Not everyone will be as dense as I am but if that can be made a little clearer that would be great.

2) The knoppMyth Halt command doesn't do anything if I have watched anything. For example, if I watch live tv or watch a recording and then try to halt the machine it just doesn't do anything.

3) I wasn't able to play the Frozen Bubble game in MythGame. However, I was able to play Tuxracer. When I tried to select Frozen Bubbles it was as if I hadn't done anything. In addition everytime I went into MythGame I got an error saying that MYthTV couldn't read the CatVer.ini. But then it would start up and keep working.

I don't have a dvd player nor a webcam so I couldn't test MythDVD nor Motion. Everything else worked great.

My System:
Athlon XP 2000+
256 MB DDR RAM
Hauppauge WinTV FM (401)
Nvidia ge4 440MX
Sound Blaster Live!
ASRock K7VM2 VIA KM266 chipset.

Thanks again for all the hard work on KnoppMyth

1. Sorry if the docs are confusing. XvMC is X video motion compression, it helps to offload the CPU when decoding MPEG-2.

2. Halt should halt you system. I tested it over and over, worked everything. Are you running as the user mythtv? This command is ran via sudo.

3. Frozen Bubbles was tested,, no issue were noted. Just remove catver.ini from the MythGame Settings.

You're welcome.

It appears that the halt issue goes further than just KnoppMyth. I can't even run Shutdown as root after exiting MythFrontend if I have watched a recording or watched live tv. So I'm guessing that the problem goes deeper than just Knoppmyth's halt menu item. I do run MythTV as a user though, not as root.

Anyway, I love it and thank you for all you've done.

I experienced the same problem with Frozen Bubbles after install the nvidia drivers, something about OpenGL? Maybe someone with a clue could shed more light on this.

I dunno cesman, when select the exit and shutdown option, it just closes mythfrontend; the pc never shuts down.

Netsurge, what did you have to change in the Bios to get it to work?

I've got the same trouble with the penguin arcade game, and have problems with the games section at it tells me that catver.ini cannot be read. I did a find / -name catver.ini and there are no files on my drive by that name. There is also no history.dat file for mame either. I just did a clean install of R4V2 Knoppmyth.
