I thought I had read somewhere that MythTv had caller ID display when you were watching tv. I have not been able to find any more info on this. Anyone have any clue?

The caller id isn't compiled. It is in the contrib directory of the source.

Any ideas on a howto for this? Is is neccessary to recompile the kernel? I have looked at the README's but they don't say a lot. A google search doesn't reveal much either. It appears to be pretty much undocumented.

No, you don't have to recompile the kernel. I don't know where a howto is located. Have you check the MythTV archive?

What type of hardware would one be using for the caller id fun?

I've been *thinking of* on using my internet line jack (quicknet.com), but it will be huge amounts of work (and require a kernel recompile)
