I have been recording a ton of south park episodes and they don't have any episode info or any discripion other then the generic one line blurb that is the same for all the episodes.
also, the timming is a little off.
I will catch a batch of 4 episodes in one night. and they all have the same discription.
is anyone else seeing this? all my oher recordings are getting the right info.
any help or ideas on whats going wrong?
thanks

speaking of south park...
I have every episode of south park in RM format, most are pretty good quality. We can't play RM on MythVideo though can we! I have to install the binary and play the files using the mouse on the X desktop. Gay. Totally gay!
So how do we hack it?

Jacking a thread is gay. Will you cover my legal fees if I include all codecs under the sun? What is wrong with recompiling MPlayer and getting the needed codecs? Doing so, one can play .rm, .ram or whatever else via MythVideo. To answer the original question, it is Zap2it that is providing the same description for the different episodes. I don't think there is much you can do about that... However, if you have the knowledge, you could manually edit the data in the db.

I used the script someone wrote to get episode data from tv.com (no time to look, serach the forum for tv.com) and it got descriptions for SP episodes.

Where in tv.com did you find the data to compare the episode number with the episode title and description?
I was looking in mysql and I can see the episode numbers are unique.
thanks
the also sometimes happens with the simpsons.

You're right threadjacking is gay! Also, didn't realise that Mplayer could play RM files at all, but now that I do I think that you should include it and ask this guy to be your free US lawyer...

If you don't have webmin set up do that first.
Bring up two browser windows or tabs, point the first one at:
http://YOURBOX/mythweb/recorded_program ... South+Park
And the second one at (you'll have to give it he password then re-enter the URL):
https://YOURBOX:10000/mysql/edit_table. ... dedprogram
Then click on the view data button. At the bottom of the screen "Search for rows where field" [title] [contains] [south park]. You're now looking at just the records you want to edit.
Look at the programs in window/tab1 identify the episode and date/time then match it up with the DB editing session in window/tab2.
A third window/tab which lets you look up episode descriptions from TV Tome or the like really helps.

thanks for the reply but I do not understand. I don't use mythweb.
looking at it further it seems that the episodes in question all came through with the same program id number
0000
can you explain a little more what mythweb does?
I am used to just opening mysql and changing the data directly.
thanks for you help
