With 5A16, I could play MP4 videos from CD. The first MP4 on the CD would automatically play (accessed via MPEG4 CD option from within KnoppMyth option). To get to the next MP4 video, I would press the > key.

After installing 5A22, MP4 videos did not automatically play from CD, but instead I got a LIRC Navigator file dialog. After some experimentation, I found that if I selected preferences and added an entry for MP4 (and mp4), then selected an MP4 file and pressed Enter, the video played.

This is an improvement over 5A16, except that when I exit mplayer by pressing the Escape key, I return to the LIRC Navigator dialog which I cannot close except by clicking the "X" close button in the top right corner of the window. I have tried every key combo I can think of to close the window (i.e., Alt-F4) with no luck. I don't have a remote installed and want to be able to control everything with the keyboard (no mouse!).

Thanks in advance....

You can quite lircnav using your remote. The following is from a Hauppuage grey remote...
Code:
 begin
 prog = lircnav
 button = VOL-
 config = page_down
 end

 begin
 prog = lircnav
 button = VOL+
 config = page_up
 end

 begin
 prog = lircnav
 button = CH+
 config = up

 begin
 prog = lircnav
 button = CH-
 config = down
 end

 begin
 prog = lircnav
 button = OK
 config = select
 end

 begin
 prog = lircnav
 button = Off
 config = quit
 end

Cesman,

Thank you for the reply...

However, I don't have a remote. I'm trying to determine how to use the KEYBOARD to close the LIRC Navigator window (as I said in my post, I can close it with the MOUSE by clicking on the X in the top right corner of the window).

lircnav was not coming up for me for some reason. there was an extra bit in my knoppmyth.xml so i fixed it and it now comes up.

i am going to look into trying to run mp4 with xine and see how that goes.
