OK, has anyone seen this before? I llive in 32926 (cocoa FL) and xmltv gives me a couple of choices. Bright House Networks-digital , and Bright house Networks. I have Bright house digital cable, but the mythbox is not using the digital box for a tuner. I have selected both networks after clearing all channel info, and in both cases, the channels it gets, in almost all cases, are off by one. If it says in the OSD, Channel 3, Simpsons, it is actually tuning in channel 2, and so on and so forth. Other than being off by one, the times and shows are correct. Is there a "Start channels with this number" setting somewhere? What have I done here?

If I'm not mistaken that is an indication that your bttv module is loaded with the wrong tuner type. Seems like that is in the mythtv faq's somewhere.

Has anyone sucessfully gotten an avermedia m179 to tune correctly? It doesent appear in the supported card file that I could find, but it seems to work fine at capturing with stereo sound and all. I have tried a few different tuner and card types in my /etc/mythtv/modules/bttv file.. Its current config is as follows:

alias char-major-81 videodev
options bttv card=1
options tuner debug=1 type=2

Once you change this, do you have to do a full halt/reboot for the changes to take affect? I cant even tell if im changing the right things... is there some way to display what the box thinks the current tuner type is? Every one i try works the same, channel 3 in the info, and channel 2 being shown. Grr...

Anyoneknow the appropriate tuner/card type for the m179? I tried 0, 1, and 6. Basically randomly choosing settings people with other cards had sucess with...

I've gotten the M179 to work, but it works intermittently. The M179 uses the same driver as the PVR-x50, KnoppMyth sees it the same and sets it up. It is an ivtv device not bttv.

So your saying it just should have worked? Is there something I can do with ivtv to see what it is set to? Perhaps it has been misconfigured.

I'm not saying that it should, I'm saying that I've seen it work intermittantly. I'm also pointing out that it is an ivtv device not bttv. You were making changes to the configuration file for bttv, not ivtv. Have you checked the log? Started the frontend from an xterm to see the output?

Yes I mentioned the bttv tuner type because that is the most common cause for one off channels, but I did not know you were using an M179.
