I have a DVBs Card, an Sat-TV via ASTRA 19.2 East.

mythfilldatabase don´t work, tvtoday change the programm-page-design.

i found another way to become the EPG

It´s a Programm: DVB-EIT

but i cand find it, an install it with apt-get.


but there is another problem:

Hi ds2k5,

DVB-EIS is not a program but short term for structured data.
This German link you found says that EPG data can be read by MythTV (???) after applying a patch to MythTV source code. Then you have to recompile. This is experimental stuff.

You could give nxtvepg a try, there is an extensive howto by somebody from Switzerland. He discribed translation from EPG to XMLTV format.

You can use as suto get nxtvepg.

I'm not at my box, so you'll have to search for some of the files.

You need to use tv_grab_de_tvtoday. tv_grab_de is broken. There might already be a link tv_grab_de to tv_grab_de_tvtoday. If not, you can create one. ( will locate the files).

Next, tv_grab_de_tvtoday was broken recently. I don't know if the fix has made it into the current release yet. If not, you will have to download the alpha version of tv_grab_de_tvtoday from sourceforge. Sourceforge seems to be down at the moment so I can't check.

Finally, you need to run tv_grab_de_tvtoday manually to configure it. will explain how. You need to do this after logging in with userID mythtv.

Yup. The "Can't call method "look_down" on an undefined value at /usr/bin/tv_grab_de_tvtoday line 462." is because tvtoday changed their web pages. You need to get the latest (alpha) version of tv_grab_de_tvtoday out of cvs.

A google of "tv_grab_de_tvtoday line 462" turns up:

Can you find the file using 'locate /usr/share/xmltv/tv_grab_de_tvtoday/channel_ids'?

Just in case it is not installed you could create it by yourself

I had a similar problem today, because i followed the link and just downloaded the script for tv today.

I used synaptic to download the latest version of xmltv from debians unstable branch (0.5.41).

You must run mythtv-setup afterwards to choose tv today for grabbing channels.

This works fine for me now.

May be this works for you too.
