I setup myth burn using the following guide:

The problem is that I want to enable commercial cutting as with my standalone dvd-player it is difficult to skip commercials but I get the following message when MythBurn starts:

commercial cut disabled, outputting for DVD format only.

Why is this default? Is there a config file for this?

Also is there a way to directly burn a DVD+RW. I tried the DVD-R burn option with my DVD+RW media and it failed to burn.

This was because my version mythtv did not genereate a cutlist when it did commercial flagging.
