Hello,

how can i play movies and music direct from a removable USB HDD.
When i plug in the ext. USB HDD it will be detected but not mounted.

I have never done it, but I would suggest using autofs to mount the USB drive and creating symlinks in the myth/video and myth/music directories to the mounted USB drive/directory location, or I have heard you can specify multiple storage locations of media in music and video setup.

Neither of these to HOWTOs address the exact same issue but using as a refrence should be able to do something along these lines.
