Hi,

What kind of visual do you get while watching TV? Static? Black?
How did you setup frequency tables?

garr79 it sound like you are using a Brooktree Chipset card, what you may find is that the system is not identifying it probably at boot.

Check you dmesg for the info on your card and/or do a lspci -v as this will list all of your pci cards, which includes your TV tuner. This will give you the info you need to do a search of the forums to get the setup info you need as most of these cards have been covered for some time.

FYI the driver it will use is the BTTV driver.

Hi,

If you live in the US using cable: yes.

Did you properly finish Mythtv-setup? If not, you can re-run it from a Xterm (as user mythtv)

You need to run lspci -v as root to get all the information. Here is the information I get from my card:
Code:
0000:02:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture (rev 11)
Subsystem: Twinhan Technology Co. Ltd VisionPlus DVB card
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 9
        Memory at eb000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K]
        Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data
Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2

Please also have a look at the dmesg as this will tell us a bit more how the driver is recognising your card.

my card had to be working beacuse i plugged my ps2 into the composite source and it shows up on my computer monitor. there are only 4 inputs for the card television, composite1, s-video and composite 3. i alot of peole have talked about using 'tuner' as an input but i dont see a 'tuner' input. maybe this helps it the ps2 works. thanks

Hi,
I would suggest to follow the advice of Girkers
Quote:

Your question about the tuner could possibly be answered after posting some info of dmseg;
Type in Xterm:
Code:
dmesg | grep tuner

and
Code:
dmesg | grep bttv

and
Code:
dmesg | grep tveeprom

Please post the resulting output. I don't think that you have to use ivtv drivers for this card.

You don't use the ivtv, it uses the bttv driver as I stated earlier.

garr79 for us to help you you need follow the directions we give you to allow us to guide you to the next step.

The PVR350 are a good card, but you may find that you have set up problems with that as well if you can not follow some simple directions.

Allow us to help you by doing the simple things we ask :)

you need to add the tuner info in the BTTV file. if you need more info on this I have notes at home and can be more specific.
